Field Tester Workshop 2008

July 16 - July 22, 2008
(with a Sunday break day)
Rutgers University

Sunday Outings

The two choices for the trips are:

  1. New York City
  2. Canoe Rides in the Pine Barrens

For those opting for the New York City: Guide will be Bro. Pat Carney.

    Suggestions made:

      New York City Trip

One of the options for Sunday will be a sightseeing trip to New York City.

If you have never visited the Big Apple, start doing your homework. Once we all arrive at Rutgers, we will ask all who want to go to list what they want to see and then try to plan an itinerary that will maximize how many of the most popular we can work into a day.

Last year we had 15 participants who had never been to NYC and among the sites they saw were The World Trade Center site, the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, Chinatown, Little Italy, The Empire State Building, Times Square, Carnegie Hall, Central Park. They rode the Staten Island Ferry, seven subways, and New Jersey Transit trains and ate in a couple of well-known eateries.

But they did not choose Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Coney Island, Yankee Stadium, Greenwich Village, The United Nations, Madison Square Garden, or many other famous tourist attractions that might interest you.

And then there are the not so well known places. For example, many people might recognize

and want to visit it (or perhaps even eat there).

So get out your tour books and walking shoes and surf the internet so that when you arrive at DIMACS, you will be ready to voice your choices.

For those opting for the Canoe Rides in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey: Guide will be Kathy Gabric.

    Suggestions made:
