Applicants should be undergraduates with a major in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related field. They should be current juniors (graduating in 2007), although sophomores with exceptionally strong backgrounds as well as seniors will be considered. Because of NSF rules, only U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents are eligible to receive stipends, housing and travel support. Women, minorities, and disabled students are encouraged to apply. ___ TRANSCRIPT (current transcript, unofficial okay, with grades through Fall 2004).
___ SHORT STATEMENT (One page or less) explaining why you are interested
in the program, what you hope to get out of it, and describing your
academic and non-academic interests.
___ RECOMMENDATION LETTER from a faculty member (or graduate teaching
assistant), preferably in mathematics or computer science, who can
discuss your potential to successfully complete a research
project. If the letter is included with the application, the
recommender should seal it in a separate envelope; letters sent by
email must be followed by a hard copy. Include the name, phone,
and email address of the faculty member on your application.
