Subject: new mailing list Date: Fri, 27 Jun 1997 15:24:41 EDT Status: ORS Hello! This is Julia Khodor, and I am sending this message to the participants list of the 3rd DIMACS workshop on bio computing. As we discussed at the conference, I have set up a new mailing list, bio-comp@mit.edu, directed at helping the biocomputing community stay in touch with the research news. In particular, the types of questions posted to the new list should include 1) we are interested in trying such-and-such technique. Has anyone here tried doing this or anything similar? 2) we need to achieve such-and-such goal. Can anyone suggest a lab technique which could help? 3) We are interested in doing such-and-such. Does anyone want to collaborate. etc. We will try to keep the traffic on the list down by taking most discussions off-line. I will also look into creating an archive of messages and a list of frequently-asked questions, as the archive grows. If anyone is intersted in helping me maintain the list and the archive, please let me know. The goal of this message is to let you know about the list and the way to subscribe to it. So, if you want to be on this new mailing list, please send me (jkhodor@mit.edu) a message with the subject subscribe (or, you can just reply to this message), and the message body of "subscribe " Once you are subscribed to the list, it will take another day before you will start receiving messages. Same is true for the unsubscribe. If you know of anyone who would be interested in joining the list, please feel free to forward this message to them. Thank you very much, and I hope to hear from you soon. Julia
