Executive Committee

The Executive Committee sets general policy for the Center, makes decisions about programs and members and units, and advises the Director.

DIMACS Council

The Council is an advisory body, intended for discussion of possible future programs, directions, and topics for DIMACS, and for exchange of ideas among a broad group of DIMACS leaders.

Advisory Board

Postdoctoral Selection Committee

The Postdoc Selection Committee reviews applications for postdoctoral fellowships at DIMACS, chooses those to whom offers will be made, and arranges that each postdoc at DIMACS will have a suitable mentor.

Projects Committee

The Projects Committee reviews proposals for special focus activities, workshops, and grant-funded research activities that might be sponsored by DIMACS. It is charged with soliciting such proposals from the DIMACS members and from the community outside of DIMACS. It develops topics and interacts with possible organizers. The committee recommends special focus topics and workshop topics to the Director and the Executive Committee for approval. It advises the Director of the acceptability of grant proposal topics.

Education Committee

The Education Committee reviews proposals for special educational activities and grant-funded educational activities that might be sponsored by DIMACS. It is also charged with soliciting such proposals from the DIMACS members and from the community outside of DIMACS. The committee recommends special educational topics to the Director and the Executive Committee for approval. It advises the Director of the acceptability of grant proposal topics.

Graduate Student Selection Committee

The Graduate Student Selection Committee reviews applications for visits to DIMACS by graduate students from other institutions, other than those who designate an interest in a special focus or special project area. Students with interests in a special focus or project area will have their applications reviewed by the special project committee for that special focus or project. The committee chooses those to whom offers will be made, allocates funds for the visit, after being given an annual budget by the Director, and arranges that each graduate student visit funded through its action will have a suitable mentor.

Visitor Committee

The Visitor Committee reviews proposals for visits to DIMACS. These proposals come from DIMACS members or from visitors themselves. It approves or disapproves of a visitor request and allocates funds for the visit, after being given an annual budget by the Director.

Computing Equipment Committee

The Computing Equipment Committee reviews DIMACS computing (and other) equipment, recomends priorities for future equipment purchases, advises the Director about equipment purchases, assists with equipment purchase proposals, and advises the Director and Executive Committee on policy about access to equipment and about staffing issues related to equipment.

Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Committee

The REU Committee consists of all mentors in the REU program and other individuals who are appointed by the Director. The Committee selects the students who participate in the REU program, making sure each such student has a mentor, and organizes the running of that program.
