On Saturday May 4, over 100 teachers will be attending a follow-up
session of the Leadership Program in Discrete Mathematics, which is
co-sponsored by DIMACS and the Rutgers Center for Mathematics,
Science, and Computer Education. The program takes place from 9:00 to
4:00 p.m. on the second floor of SERC (two buildings away from the
CoRE Building, DIMACS' headquarters at Rutgers).
DIMACS researchers are encouraged to come and learn about how teachers
at all grade levels are introducing discrete mathematics into their
classrooms. When you arrive, ask for Joe Rosenstein and he will
provide a guided tour of the activities (or email him in advance to
discuss the program).
The activities include presentations and workshops by college faculty,
reports by participants on the discrete mathematics units they have
used in their classrooms, and opportunities for teachers to share
about their experiences in bringing topics of discrete mathematics
into their schools. Join the teachers at lunch at the Busch Campus
Center.
