ABSTRACT:

In a nutshell:

Dr. Feynman was one of the first to consider the idea of building computers out of objects on the quantum scale. This video was made in may 1985 when he was invited to present his ideas on the subject at the AT&T Research Colloquium. While the talk concentrate on making classical computers out of quantum elements (Dr. Feynman did not yet see quantum coherence as an interesting tool to do computation), he presents many ideas which are at the basis for all the current work in the field. Interestingly, he also makes a few predictions which, 10 years later, appear to be almost within our reach.
