Abstract:
It is possible to represent the steady states of nonequilibrium
statistical mechanics by SRB measures. These ergodic measures are long
time limits of measures with a smooth density under time evolution (but
they are usually not smooth). We shall discuss properties of SRB measures
relevant for physics, in particular differentiability with respect to
physical parameters.
