Abstract:

Recent technologic developments in medical imaging permit the non-invasive visualization of structures not previously imagined. These technologic advances present challenges associated with the acquisition, archiving, transmission, and analysis of increasingly large multi-dimensional image databases. This paper will review recent developments in non-invasive skin imaging for the investigation and early detection of skin cancer. Challenges and opportunities related to the management and analysis of these images will be highlighted.

This seminar is co-sponsored by the Rutgers Computer Science Department and DIMACS.
