Title: Is Incompletness Serious?

Speaker: Greg Chaitin, IBM Research (Yorktown)

Date: September 8, 2005 5:00pm

Location: Hill Center, Room 705, Rutgers University, Busch Campus, Piscataway, NJ

Abstract:

The conventional view is that it is not. However, I'll present an information-theoretic approach to incompleteness that suggests that math and physics are not that different and therefore experimental math may be the only way to proceed if the road is blocked by incompleteness.

Discussion welcome!
