Abstract:
This talk will describe EpiSims, an individual based epidemiological simulation that relies essentially on estimates of person-to-person contact patterns. I will focus on the estimation process for these social networks, structural properties of the estimated networks, and the interplay between network structure and disease propagation.
A complementary talk on processing large networks wih particular emphasis on social networks will given by Madhav Marathe from Virginia Tech on February 14, 2005 ( stay tuned ).
