Title: Area of Catalan Paths on a Checkerboard

Abstract:

In this talk, a bijection between the area under all Catalan paths of length n and the set of inversions of all 321-avoiding permutations of length n+1 is established. As intermediate stages, a number of interesting bijective results that pave the way to the requested bijection are presented.
