Abstract:

Since the events of September 11, 2001, the New Jersey State Police have taken a more global approach to addressing potential threats brought on by terrorism in addition to employing preparedness and response capabilities to the constant challenges that impact the State of New Jersey.

In February 2004, the New Jersey State Police created a new Branch within the organization which helped streamline homeland security response. The Homeland Security Branch allows the New Jersey State Police to best coordinate statewide resources for a strong and fast response to emerging public safety threats.

In his talk, Major Hunt will discuss how the New Jersey State Police define and use 'Managing the Radius of Risk'.
