Title: The p-adic valuations of interesting sequences

Speaker: Victor Moll, Tulane University

Date: Thursday, September 17, 2009 5:00pm

Location: Hill Center, Room 705, Rutgers University, Busch Campus, Piscataway, NJ

Abstract:

Experimentally we have discovered many unsuspected patterns for the p-adic valuations of some sequences. I will present some (mostly conjectured) results for Stirling numbers as well as the sequence counting Alternating Sign Matrices.
