Title: Developments in Alternating Sign Matrices

Speaker: David Bressoud, Macalester College

Date: Thursday, October 14, 2010 5:00pm

Location: Hill Center, Room 705, Rutgers University, Busch Campus, Piscataway, NJ

Abstract:

After an overview of the discoveries concerning alternating sign matrices that led to Doron's proof of the refined alternating sign matrix conjecture, this talk will introduce many of the developments that have arisen since then, suggesting that there is still a lot of room for exploration and experimentation with these ubiquitous objects.
