Title: A Combinatorial Approach to Hypermatrix Algebra

Speaker: Edinah Gnang, Institute for Advanced Study

Date: Thursday, March 13, 2014 5:00pm

Location: Hill Center, Room 705, Rutgers University, Busch Campus, Piscataway, NJ

Abstract:

Following Zeilberger's classic paper titled "A combinatorial approach to matrix algebra", we present in this talk a combinatorial approach to hypermartrix algebra and how the Mesner-Bhattacharya algebra allows for a generalization of the combinatorial interpretation of the Cayley-Hamilton theorem.
