Title: Bijective Proofs of some new MacMahon-style Partition Identities

Speaker: Matthew Russell, Rutgers University

Date: Thursday, March 1, 2018 5:00pm

Location: Hill Center, Room 705, Rutgers University, Busch Campus, Piscataway, NJ

Abstract:

Two of Doron's favorite mathematicians are J. J. Sylvester and Major P. A. MacMahon. I will make Doron happy by using bijective ideas drawn from the work of the former to prove partition identities that generalize work of the latter. Many of these identities were conjectured after computer searches that were joint work of the speaker with Shashank Kanade and Debajyoti Nandi.
