DIMACS Workshop on Algorithmic Challenges in Optimization, Game Theory and Computer Science: in Memory of Leo Khachiyan

March 9 - 10, 2009
DIMACS Center, CoRE Building, Rutgers University

Organizers:
Endre Boros, Director of RUTCOR, Endre.Boros at rutcor.rutgers.edu
Vladimir Gurvich, RUTCOR, gurvich at rutcor.rutgers.edu

This 2-day workshop is dedicated to the memory of Leonid Khachiyan on the occasion of the 30th year anniversary of the publication of his landmark result on the polynomiality of LP. Throughout his career, Leonid Khachiyan attacked challenging algorithmic problems and provided solutions of great insight. His body of work includes numerous substantial and famous contributions to optimization and several related fields. In this workshop well known experts of linear, convex and semidefinite programing, complexity theory, game theory, vertex generation and Boolean dualization will present the current state of the art and survey the developments in the last 30 years.
