It's hard to believe, but DIMACS is celebrating its 20th birthday, and we will be commemorating this milestone with a full-day birthday conference and celebration.

A lot has happened in the past 20 years and the conference will give us an opportunity to look back and to look forward at the role of discrete mathematics and theoretical computer science in general, and of DIMACS in particular. The conference will feature talks by leading experts with ties to DIMACS, speaking on topics that have emerged as important themes including: Discrete Math/Graph Theory/Combinatorics; Discrete Probability and Statistical Physics; Networks; Complexity and Computational Intractability; Privacy and Security; Computational Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics; Epidemiology; and Data Analysis.

Confirmed speakers include:

  Joan Feigenbaum, Yale University
Ron Graham, University of California, San Diego
Dick Karp, University of California, Berkeley
  Simon Levin, Princeton University
  David Madigan, Columbia University
  Mario Szegedy, Rutgers University
  Eva Tardos, Cornell University
  Mike Trick, Carnegie Mellon University
  Peter Winkler, Dartmouth College

The day will also feature panels of experts discussing connections with industry and with education as well as opportunities to catch up with old friends, welcome new friends, share personal remembrances, and celebrate a few DIMACS success stories.

A celebratory dinner will follow the conference.
