Hierarchical Ranking of Links
Links-to-Routes Dependency:
Link 1 is used by AD_North, FC
Link 2 is used by AD_North, FC
Link 3 is used by AD_North
Link 4 is used by AD_South, FC
Link 5 is used by AD_South, FC, HK_North, LG
Link 6 is used by AD_South, LG
Link 7 is used by HK_North, LG
Link 8 is used by HK_North
Link 9 is used by HK_South
Link 10 is used by HK_South
Link 11 is used by HK_South
Notes:
We use this network to illustrate the concept of Cut-link Hierarchy.
- Topology -- Sites (A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L) and ModSections (1,2,3,…,13).
- Capacity Demands between some site pairs (A and D, H and K, L and G, F and C).
- Some site pairs ((A,D) and (H,L)) use two diverse routes (North and South) for their capacity demands, other site pairs ((L,G) and (F,C)) use a single route.
- For every site pair with capacity demand we have the route (or two routes) that can be used for this demand; we call it Route(s).
- For example, site pair (A,D) has two Routes: AD_North (A-E-F-D) and AD_South (A-B-C-D); site pair (F,C) has one Route FC (F-E-A-B-C).
- Route can use rings, backhauls, etc - as long as we have routing information.
- Every link has a list of Routes that use this link (Link-to-Route-Dependency).
For example, link 5 (B-C) is used by the following Demands-Routes: AD_South, FC, HK_North, LG; link 6 is used by AD_South and LG Demands-Routes.
