Purpose
The NSF Division of
Computer-Communications Research (C-CR) has shown possible interest
in establishing a program or focus area in "Quantum Communications,
Cryptography, and Coding." We will hold a workshop and produce a
report that analyzes the need and structure for such a new program.
Organizers
Fred
Roberts and the DIMACS
staff are providing logistical support for the workshop.
The workshop
and report are being funded by NSF C-CR.
Workshop
The workshop will be held on January 17-18, 2002 at the
Hampton Inn in Elmsford, New York. The conference immediately
follows the 2002
QIP Workshop that is being held at IBM in Yorktown Heights and
using the Hampton Inn for housing the participants.
The location of the Hampton Inn given on the Hampton Inn website (and
the IBM website before January 15) is incorrect. It is located on Route
119 about a half mile west of route 9A near the intersection of Taxter
Road. Please see the updated map.
See
this page for information on making reservations at the
Hampton Inn. If you are not planning on attending QIP then we have
rooms reserved under "C-CR Quantum Planning Workshop" until January 3.
