DIMACS Workshop on Dialogue on Reverse Engineering Assessment and Methods (DREAM)

September 7 - 8, 2006
Wave Hill Conference Center, New York, NY

Organizers:
Gustavo Stolovitzky, IBM Computational Biology Center, gustavo@us.ibm.com
Andrea Califano, Columbia University, califano@dbmi.columbia.edu
Jim Collins, Boston University, jcollins@bu.edu

Jointly sponsored by the Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS), under the auspices of the DIMACS/BioMaPS/MB Center Special Focus on Information Processing in Biology, the Columbia University Center for the Multiscale Analysis of Genetic Networks (MAGNet), and the NIH Roadmap Initiative

This special focus is jointly sponsored by the Center for Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science (DIMACS), the Biological, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences Interfaces Institute for Quantitative Biology (BioMaPS), and the Rutgers Center for Molecular Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry (MB Center).

Participation and Call for Papers/Posters:

The DREAM workshop will convene experimental and computational biologists interested in the dissection of cellular pathways. The format will include a small number of invited keynote speakers and several presentations and posters selected from submitted extended abstracts. We solicit the submission of extended abstracts (4 pages) on one of the following topics:

  1. Towards a Gold Standard for Reverse Engineering: In Silico Models
  2. Towards a Gold Standard for Reverse Engineering: Experimental Models
  3. Data to use for pathway inference and strategies for prediction validation.
  4. Reverse Engineering Algorithms and Metrics.

The dates for submission of the extended abstracts are:

We are currently working with the editors of PLoS Biology on a special issue that will contain full-length papers selected from the accepted abstracts. If you are interested in submitting a poster or a presentation, or for further information, please contact the workshop organizers.
