Program: Mathematics of Planet Earth 2013+. The PK-12 Education for the Planet Earth of Tomorrow: STEM Educator Symposium is a collaboration between Colorado State University, Poudre School District, Preston Middle School, and Rutgers University.
Featured participants and keynote speakers:
- Armand Doucet: Top 50 teacher, Visionary award winning educator & businessman-Community leader, Lifelessonlearning founder, ADE 2015 & Keynote speaker.
- Michael Goodman is a Senior Instructional Technology Coordinator with Arlington Public Schools for 19 years. He works with amazing an amazing staff and student body at Kenmore Middle School which is in the 3rd year of a full iPad one to one implementation. Michael manages the instructional technology at the school and works with teachers and staff to implement a personalized learning approach. Also, he serves as a mentor to several STEM and male mentoring organizations.
- Charles Randolph has over 10 years experience as an
Instructional Technology Coordinator (ITC) for Arlington Public
Schools. During that time he has worked directly with students,
teachers and administration to infuse 21st century Instructional
Technology/STEM/CTE skills in the classrooms and schools. Charles
has also supported school and county-wide deployments and
professional development initiatives.
- Teresa Roche, PhD is currently the Chief Human Resources Officer for the City of Fort Collins. Teresa has a deep passion for collaboration and learning as she is interested in how individuals and organizations develop the capability to interpret an evolving and complex environment to take effective action. Presently she is a Fellow with Harvard University's Learning and Innovation Laboratory and CHREATE, a volunteer effort to map how Human Resources must evolve to meet the future challenges in ten years, identify pivotal initiatives to accelerate that evolution, and design the actions needed to make the future a reality. Teresa and her family have a deep love for Preston Middle School and they were delighted to be involved in the early journey of the school's STEM program.
- Melanie Stafford has been teaching high school mathematics for ten years. She taught at Southern Durham High School in Durham, NC for two years. Currently serving as a Mathematics Instructor and STEM Department Chair at Mercy Career & Technical High School in Philadelphia, PA. Previously worked as a survey research supervisor at Social & Scientific Systems, Inc. in Research Triangle Park, NC and as Assistant Director of the Center for Survey Research at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC.
