Activities
Teachers will participate in a Graph Theory workshop emphasizing applications. There will also be seminars for researchers and all institute activities, focused on issues of interest to both teachers and researchers. All participants will work with software relevant to discrete mathematics. Teams of teachers and researchers will be encouraged to collaborate on projects such as developing classroom materials, using e-mail to continue projects after the summer program. Teacher participants will develop professional plans and activities which they will present at the three follow up sessions, the culmination of which will result in the awarding of three graduate credits in mathematics education from Rutgers University. Staff activities will be led by experienced college and university faculty and high school lead teachers-in-residence.
