Hi group...
This is something I just sent to the AP Statistics ListServe. It might be of interest to some of you.
-Hope all is well. I miss those DREI reunions.

There was some good response to my offer to share some handouts on Type I,Type II, and Power a while back. So, in continued
interest of sharing, I'll just mention that I have prepared a two page (spreadsheet) handout that I will distribute to
students in my classes. The handout relates to 2 sample statistics (difference of means, difference of proportions). It
provides simple illustrations of the Central Limit Theorem, and (in two sample statistics), why means "add or subtract," why
variances "add," and why standard deviations "don't add or subtract."

This might be helpful to those new to teaching statistics.
For experienced statistics teachers, this handout would probably not be of much use.

Due to the way it is constructed, I cannot send this via. e-mail attachment. If you wish to risk 66 cents, you can send me a
self-addressed, stamped envelope, and I'll be happy to insert a copy into the envelope and mail it back to you. As with the
previous materials I offered, I make no claims for quality, or lack thereof, relating to this handout. I hope my students will
find it helpful, but, only time will tell.

If you want to gamble and send a self-addressed, stamped envelope, my address is
