BY PLANE:

Logan International Airport is the closest airport to Salem and is approximately 20 miles from the Salem State College campus.

By SHUTTLE:

North Shore Shuttle, 1-800-649-8660

The fare for one person to Salem State College between 6am-11pm is $40. (Gratuity for driver not included.) Pickup must be arranged at least 24 hours in advance.

By SUBWAY (+ CAB OPTION):

At the airport Massport runs a free shuttle service from the terminals to the blue subway line. Information about the shuttle can be found at:

Take the blue line outbound to Wonderland. The fare is $1. Information about the blue line can be found at:

Outside the subway terminal you may take a cab to Salem State College, South Campus, Bates Townhouses Complex. The South Campus entrance is at the intersection of Loring Ave and Harrison Road in Salem. The Bates Townhouse Complex is on Harrison Road.

Then at the subway terminal at Wonderland, follow signs for MBTA buses and take the 455 bus to Salem. The bus costs $1.25 and the driver won't make change. Ask the driver to stop at the Salem State South Campus at at the intersection of Loring Ave and Harrison Road in Salem. The Bates Townhouse Complex is on Harrison Road.


By COMMUTER RAIL TRAIN:

At the airport Massport runs a free shuttle service from the terminals to the blue subway line. Information about the shuttle can be found at:

Take the blue line ($1 fare) inbound to the Government Center stop. Change at Government Center to the green line, Lechmere train. Get off the green line at North Station and then follow signs to North Station and the commuter rail lines.

Once inside the commuter rail station, take the Newburyport/Rockport line to Salem. Buy a ticket before boarding the train in the commuter rail station. The train takes a half hour to get from North Station to Salem Depot and costs $3.00 each way. Commuter rail schedules can be found at:

Train service to Salem is provided by Amtrak and the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority). The closest Amtrak station is South Station, Boston.

The commuter rail train to Salem is located at North Station, so take the subway ($1 fare) from South Station to North Station. Subway maps can be found at:

Take the red line inbound to Park Street, change to the green line, Lechmere train, and get off at North Station.
