New buses only topic of conversation Travel West Midlands has proudly rolled out its new fleet of buses on the number 12 route linking Coventry and Leamington to Campus. The new buses, designed by top Swede design guru Ikea von Dübbledecka, replace the older style vehicles which first came into service in 1897. Responding to suggestions from users, more than three new features have been included, which are: * Garish red and blue decor combined with bright fluorescent lighting, designed to induce nausea after a heavy night in the union. * Fold down seats for parents with pushchairs or students with traffic cones. * Wider aisles to accommodate more discarded copies of Metro * Double seats at the back, allowing large groups of local youths to sit together and act menacingly towards the other passengers. However, bearing in mind the TWM mantra, "if it ain't unbroken, don't fix it", a number of much loved features of the number 12 buses have been retained, including: * Friendly and helpful drivers who are always happy to explain to confused students that a bus marked Leamington is not going to Coventry and vice-versa. * Refusal to give change for reasons of "speed and efficiency" * Complete lack of suspension or shock absorbers for that roller-coaster feeling. * An informal, devil-may-care attitude towards tedious administration such as timetables and consistent pricing. Currently, the only subject of conversation amongst regular bus users is the design of the new number twelve buses, and quite how wonderfully fantastic they are. This is likely to continue, forever.
