I don't know what you mean by uniform graph.
"Expand selected," when chosen with a supervertex selected, will replace
it with the portion of the graph which was collapsed to create it.
It sounds like you selected "induced subgraph" without selecting any
vertices (clicking on them with the left button (shift-leftbutton to add
to the selection)). Select some vertices, then try again.
