- Abstract:
The talk presents some classical problems and results about N points in R^3 that attract one another by gravity according to Newton's laws; think of the Solar System. Some of the most basic questions are unanswered, e.g. will the Earth ever fall into the Sun? Deep work of Kolmogorov-Arnold-Moser gives the best partial answer known today: Probably not.
