You have been told that mathematical statements require "rigor" and "proof." This is an overstated belief. Broad classes of combinatorial, algebraic, and even analytic statements can be established purely based on empirical evidence. These techniques are not as well-known as they should be. We will share in the joy of proof by example with a series of problems about sums, integrals, and recurrences.
