  • Abstract:

We report on two projects.  The first, with Javier Gomez-Serrano, Fabian Lehmann, Daniel Platt, Yidi Qi and Freid Tong, proves the existence of Calabi-Yau (Ricci-flat Kahler) metrics on hypersurfaces in projective space using verified numerics and fixed point theorems, independently of Yau’s famous theorem.  The second, with Saman Habibi Esfahani, derives the moduli space of complex structures on the six-sphere produced by Alpöge’s construction; it is a (one dimensional) punctured complex disk.
