- Project Abstract:
An order on a group is a way of comparing its elements that is compatible with the group operation. Groups with finitely many left-orders are completely classified. It is an open problem to classify all groups with finitely many bi-orders. We are concerned with particular instances of this problem, such as the bi-order theoretic structure of the solvable Baumslag-Solitar groups. These groups admit infinitely many left-orders, but only finitely many bi-orders.
