Math Dept. Members...
I have encouraged my students to use the Internet to search for interesting
mathematical sites. I'm excited that some have done so. Here are three great
sites.
_______________
THIS SITE WAS FOUND BY AP CALCULUS STUDENTS

JANICE AMADOR AND MAIREAD SCHWAB.

(1)
http://daisy.uwaterloo.ca/~alopez-o/math-faq/mathtext/mathtext/math-faq.html

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MATHEMATICAL SITES I HAVE SEEN.
AMONG OTHER THINGS, IT REFERENCES SOME OF THE GREAT HISTORICAL PROBLEMS IN
MATHEMATICS.
MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT IT.

THESE SITES WERE DISCOVERED BY AP CALCULUS STUDENT

MARISA AVANSINO

(2) http://scottlan.edu/lriddle/women/chronol.htm

(3) http://scottlan.edu/lriddle/women/women.htm

They contain stories, references, etc. about the contributions of women to the
field of mathematics. I suggest you urge your students to look at these
sites.

Three cheers for Janice, Mairead, and Marisa.
