Apologies, and where to get info on internet scams

Caroline, I definitely owe you an apology for overreacting on the chain
letter. I realize you were only trying to be helpful, and couldn't have
known this was a hoax (it's been circulating for two years despite all
efforts to stop it, so you know it's a good one).

Just like any big city, the Internet has its dangerous spots which
unwary newcomers may stumble into. In lieu of a guidebook, then, here
is some information on the Good Times hoax and other scams you may
encounter. I'm sorry now that we didn't discuss this in the summer
