I apologize for multiple postings, but I wanted to ask everyone I know
whao might be able to help. One of the relatively new integrated math
curricula (IMP, CorePlus, Arise, etc.) contains an activity in which the
solution for locating an airport is the Steiner point for three vertice.
Could someone give me the exact reference for this? Also, do you know of
other examples in HS texts which are more "modern" applications of
geometry, especially as would overlap into what we all call "discrete
math"? Specific references would really be appreciated for my current
project. Thanks in advance. DREI '99... see you tomorrow morning.
