I have a mailing ready to go out to each of you (to your home
addresses), however, campus mail will be picking it up on Monday and it
should leave campus on Tuesday morning.

So, I'm sending an e-mail version with links to the various web pages.
If you don't have a web browser to view the pages, let me know and I
will send you the text versions separately.

In general, I would like to say the following about arrival/departure
dates: since I have not heard from a great many of you, I will be making
reservations for arrivals for late Saturday night 6/28.

With the following exceptions: Lisa Toplovec and Cathy Zucco have told
me that they're coming on Sunday, so reservations will be set up for
late Sunday 6/29 arrivals. Ethel Breuche will be coming on Monday 6/30 &
departing on Tuesday 7/1; Anne Huffer arrives 6/29 & departs 7/1;
Darlene Hughes arrives 6/28 & departs 7/2; Roseanne Krane arrives 6/28 &
departs 7/2; Alan Pearson arrives 6/28 & departs 7/2; Sanderson Smith
arrives 6/28 & departs 7/2. If there's anyone else that doesn't fit into
the 6/28 arrival & 7/1 departure dates that I've planned, please let me
know immediately so that I can change reservations.

I've heard from Frances Boyle, Lee Cristofano, Bro. Don Dimitroff, and
Ira Friedman - they can't make the follow-up. Charles Kwan and Mary
Alice Mooney are coming, however. If I've missed anyone, please let me
know.

Iliana Bjorling-Sachs will be driving to DIMACS for each day of the
program.

John H. Conway will be arriving late Monday night 6/30 and will be
giving a talk on Tuesday 7/1. His talk will be on the subject of
arithmetic.

Scot Drysdale will be arriving Saturday 6/28, showing his poker example
of "brains in the glass jar" around 9:00 p.m. in one of the hotel
banquet rooms (there will be a sign in the hotel lobby indicating the
room). He'll be departing Tuesday afternoon.

Jeff Weeks will be arriving on Sunday 6/29. He'll be giving a talk at
DIMACS at 1:30 p.m. and will be staying at the hotel with all of you.
He's very interested in discussing/working with any/all of you on the
topic of topology. He'll be leaving on Tuesday.

Here's my current version of the "Roommate List" - notify me of any
changes asap:

Here is my cover letter that will be in the mailing...

June 20, 1997

Hi!

We look forward to seeing you in June for our last formal get-together.
Please keep the following dates in mind and let me know if, for
some reason you can't make it (June 29, 30 and July 1st). The Tentative
agenda will be posted to the DREI'96 web page at
http://dimacs.rutgers.edu/drei/96/ so check at the bottom of this web
page for the latest information.

Enclosed you will find a copy of the tentative agenda for this weekend,
hotel information, and directions (just in case your web browser
isn't working). If you were working for credit (lesson plan or project),
please keep in mind that it needs to be finished by the last follow-up
and tested by two other teachers (either from your school or from one of
the other DREI'96 teachers). If you've been working on some
project involving the Internet, bring any related materials with you, so
that if you would like to post it on the DREI96 Teacher web site,
our student helpers can scan them in and post them for you.

See you next weekend!

Best regards,

Elaine P. Foley
