Other Lodging Options

The Rutgers Inn and Conference Center is located on the Douglass Campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick. It is a nice lower-priced option and the only hotel on the Rutgers campus. It is roughly two miles from the conference location and is accessible via the Rutgers’ campus buses, which are free but may be infrequent during the summer and other breaks. Parking at the Rutgers Inn is free and the nightly rate is $99/night plus tax. (Please note, however, that the Rutgers Inn is small and books quickly.)

The Heldrich Inn and Conference Center is the only other hotel in downtown New Brunswick that is an easy walk to the conference venue. It is an upscale hotel that is priced accordingly.

There are many hotels that are just a short drive from the conference venue that you can explore online. Rutgers has arranged a service agreement for several local hotels. When you book your reservation through this service, you may receive discounted rates. These listings are provided as a convenience to visitors and should not be considered an endorsement of any hotel by Rutgers University.

Getting to New Brunswick

By air: The closest airport is Newark Liberty International Airport a major East Coast air hub with many direct flights domestically and abroad. Newark Liberty has good rail connections to New Brunswick. New York’s John F. Kennedy (J.F.K.) and LaGuardia airports are also accessible via car and public transportation, but they are much less convenient.

By rail: New Jersey Transit operates a major station in New Brunswick on the Northeast Corridor line; the station is a short hop from a main Amtrak rail station at Metropark in Iselin. Amtrak serves New Brunswick, but there are not many scheduled stops. If you are coming to New Brunswick via Amtrak, the best strategy is to transfer to NJ Transit at Metropark.

By bus: New Jersey Transit and Suburban Transit provide regular daily service, both local and to New York and Philadelphia.
