MIP 2022 will be held on the College Avenue Campus of Rutgers University. Workshop activities will take place in the Rutgers Academic Building located at 15 Seminary Place, New Brunswick, NJ.
Presentations will be in room 4225, which is located in the East Wing of the building. Breaks and the poster session will be in common areas outside the room.
Parking: If you do not have a Rutgers parking permit and you plan to drive to the workshop venue each day, there will be free parking nearby in Lot 30 behind the Student Center and in the College Ave Parking Deck, but you must register your car to park. A link to register for parking will be provided in the confirmation message you receive when you register for the workshop.
Dining in New Brunswick
New Brunswick has a wide variety of dining options to fit all budgets. Many are within an easy walk of the conference venue and the Hyatt hotel.
- Workshop Dinner will be held on Monday May 23 at The Frog and The Peach. To attend, you will need to register in advance for the dinner. We will open registration in mid March 2022. For directions see map. Walking from the Hyatt, you will go left on Neilson St and then left on Hiram Square. You should arrive in 5 minutes or less.
- Dining options: Here is a list of some dinner options near the Hyatt (and two near the Rutgers Inn). If you are staying at the Rutgers University Inn, there are few dining options near the Inn. Your best bet is to find something in near the MIP venue (or elsewhere in New Brunswick) before returning to the Inn.
- Lunch options: Here is a list of quickish lunch options near the MIP lecture hall. Here's a different view of lunch options grouped by location, with an associated map:

Hyatt Regency New Brunswick
A block of rooms for MIP has been arranged with the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick. The hotel is convenient to many New Brunswick restaurants, including The Frog & The Peach, and is a roughly 0.5 mile walk to the workshop venue. The group rate will be $165 plus taxes. This rate is available until May 9.
Parking: Overnight self-parking at the Hyatt is available to those who register as part of the MIP block at the discounted rate of $18.00/day.
Other Lodging Options
The Rutgers Inn and Conference Center is located on the Douglass Campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick. It is a nice lower-priced option and the only hotel on the Rutgers campus. It is roughly two miles from the conference location and is accessible via the Rutgers’ campus buses, which are free but may be infrequent during the summer and other breaks. Parking at the Rutgers Inn is free and the nightly rate is $99/night plus tax. (Please note, however, that the Rutgers Inn is small and books quickly.)
The Heldrich Inn and Conference Center is the only other hotel in downtown New Brunswick that is an easy walk to the conference venue. It is an upscale hotel that is priced accordingly.
There are many hotels that are just a short drive from the conference venue that you can explore online. Rutgers has arranged a service agreement for several local hotels. When you book your reservation through this service, you may receive discounted rates. These listings are provided as a convenience to visitors and should not be considered an endorsement of any hotel by Rutgers University.
