Dimacs invites you to its Fall Mixer series. All DIMACS members, visitors, postdocs, and students are invited to join us Tuesday, October 28 at DIMACS hosted by the DIMACS staff. The purpose of this mixer program is to introduce the new postdocs, graduate students and DIMACS visitors to each other and to DIMACS visitors and postdocs from the different DIMACS institutions. The October program will begin at 11:10am and will feature talks by Moses Charikar of the Princeton Computer Science Department, Benny Pinkas of HP Labs, and Doron Zeilberger of the Rutgers Math Department. The titles of their respective talks are "Clustering with qualitative information", "Private matching and information retrieval via homomorphic encryption", and "Areas of polygons from Heron of Alexandria to Dave Robbins". Talks will also be given by Ryan O'Donnell (IAS postdoc) and Guy Kindler (DIMACS postdoc). Full details of the program, including abstracts, are displayed at http://dimacs.rutgers.edu/Events/2003/program-mix2.html.

Directions on how to reach DIMACS may be found at http://dimacs.rutgers.edu/Directions/Directions1.html.

Lunch will be served at noon. In order to plan for the luncheon, we would appreciate your letting us know in advance of your intention to come for lunch. Please RSVP to Maria Mercado (mercado@dimacs.rutgers.edu) by October 21. Those who do not RSVP are still welcome, but we would appreciate your giving us your intentions in advance.
