Lunch and coffee, free admission, time to mingle and great talks on timely subjects! Featured speakers include Juan Garay from AT&T Labs and Jon Kettenring from Drew University plus newcomers to the DIMACS community from Alcatel-Lucent, Telcordia, AT&T Labs, and the Rutgers CS Dept. Topics will include internet message transmission, the age of massive data sets, quantum computing, complexity of algorithms, constraint satisfaction algorithms, energy-aware computing and more.
All DIMACS members, visitors, postdocs, and students are invited to join us Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 10:00 am at AT&T Labs hosted by Graham Cormode. The purpose of this mixer program is to introduce the new postdocs, graduate students and DIMACS visitors to each other and to DIMACS visitors and postdocs from the different DIMACS institutions. Due to the need to prepare visitor passes and badges to enter AT & T, we ask attendees to notify Nicole Clark (nicolec@dimacs.rutgers.edu) by October 30, 2009 of their intention to attend and their place of employment. Even AT&T employees should do this, as it would help us get a better handle on how much food to order. Those who do not RSVP are still welcome, but we would appreciate your giving us your intentions in advance. Registration begins at 10:00 am. There is no registration fee for any DIMACS mixer.
Full details of the program, including abstracts, are displayed at http://dimacs.rutgers.edu/Events/2009/program-mix2.html
